An Affiliate is the person or business that promotes a marketplace using a unique referral link. Affiliates share their link with their audience (for example via social media, email, or a website) and earn rewards when eligible actions occur, such as sign-ups or completed purchases, depending on the programme rules.

A Referred User is the customer or seller who clicks an affiliate’s referral link and then signs up to the marketplace or completes a transaction. Referred users interact directly with the marketplace, while their activity is tracked and attributed back to the affiliate who referred them.

In short:

  • Affiliate = promotes the marketplace and earns rewards

  • Referred User = joins or transacts on the marketplace via an affiliate’s link
