When should I reject a payout?

As a marketplace owner, you reserve the right to reject a commission payout to an affiliate only in cases of genuine fraud or abuse.

You should reject a payout if an affiliate is attempting to:

  • Claim commission on a self-referral

  • Manipulate referrals or transactions to gain commission unfairly

  • Claim credit for fraudulent, cancelled, refunded, or invalid orders

  • Breach your affiliate programme terms in a way that directly impacts commission eligibility

In cases of confirmed fraud, it is reasonable to both reject the payout and remove the affiliate’s account to protect your marketplace.

However, if a payout relates to a legitimate and eligible order, it is important that the affiliate is paid their owed commission promptly and in full. Withholding valid payouts can damage trust and discourage affiliates from promoting your marketplace.
